  2. 1 small onion
  3. 1 small tomato
  4. 3,4 green chillies
  5. 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
  6. 1 teaspoon red chilly powder
  7. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  8. 1 teaspoon roasted jeera powder
  9. 2 tbspn oil
  10. Few Curry leaves
  11. Few Coriander leaves
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tsp asafoetida, mustard seeds each

Instructions to make to make Dal fry

  1. Cook tur dal in a pressure cooker. Heat deep pan
    Add oil once hot add mustard seeds, chopped garlic, chilies, saute, add onion, tomatoes, saute till mushy.
  2. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves saute till aromatic, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, cumin powder, saute add cooked dal. Cook for 5 minutes. Add red chilly powder, garam masala, salt.
  3. Cook for five more minutes. Serve hot with jeera rice or steam rice.
